Kolver is excited to announce the release of firmware v40 for the K-DUCER, bringing a new set of enhancements that improve its usability, connectivity and quality control processes.
The easiest-to-use, most intuitive precision fastening system on the market just got even better... and the best part is: it's all free!

Compatibility with the K-TLS, our new smart positioning system
The K-TLS is Kolver's new smart positioning system and it can be programmed and controlled directly from the K-DUCER. No additional control units are required and you get to use the same familiar KDU interface you've been using all along.Simply add the desired positions for each screw within a program and you're good to go.

Note: K-DUCERS users who already have a TLS1 positioning system can easily upgrade to the K-TLS by purchasing only the new K-TLS adapter (product code: 020049) and upgrading to v40.
Automatic hard joint detection
The K-DUCER is now able to alert the operator if the tightening parameters are suboptimal for the type of joint being tightened. v40 also adds support for Open Protocol MIDs 2500 & 2501: read and modify program parameters.
We have also updated the API for C# (NuGet) and the library for Siemens S7 PLC. More information on NuGet here and on our Siemens library here.
Usability enhancements
With every new release, we always include a number of usability improvements that are a combination of user suggestions and the countless observations our team has made while visiting our clients.We are very proud of our close collaboration with our customers and we strongly believe it's what makes our products so intuitive and easy to use.
UX highlights in v40 include:
- copy&paste existing programs into new programs; useful, for instance, when needing to duplicate an existing program with only minor changes;
- press and hold YES when saving changes to any program setting to go back directly to the home screen; useful when no more setting changes are needed, and the user wishes to go back to the home screen without going through a few screens;
- press and hold SKIP on the home screen to skip to the next program (instead of just the next screw);
- assign different torque units to different programs; for instance, a user could use cNm for one program and Nm for another;
How do I upgrade to v40?
- v38 users: easily self-update via USB. Find the file here.- v37 or lower: upgrading is still free but requires servicing by your Kolver representative or distributor. Once on v40, any future upgrades will be self-service.
