When precision torque & angle control meets intelligent vision, automation becomes smarter, faster, and more reliable.
Buchanan Automation, a trusted automation integrator, developed this innovative application combining Kolver’s K-DUCER KDS-PL70 electric screwdriver with Micropsi Industries’ MIRAI vision system.
Micropsi Industries specializes in adaptive robot control powered by artificial intelligence. MIRAI is an AI-driven robot control software that makes it possible to automate tasks once considered too complex to solve. Once integrated into a robot, MIRAI enables it to “see” its workspace and react to unpredictable situations in real time. Unlike standard computer-vision systems, MIRAI delivers greater robustness, precision, and flexibility through direct real-time control, without any CAD data required. It can even handle challenging visual conditions such as reflections, specular highlights, and transparent materials.
In this project, the K-DUCER provides precise, traceable torque and angle control, while MIRAI guides the robot to dynamically locate and align each screw position through visual feedback. The result is a vision-guided automated screwdriving system that delivers both flexibility and repeatable accuracy.
As you watch the video, notice how the robot instantly adapts when the component is moved, quickly recalculating and continuing the operation without interruption. This is MIRAI’s real-time intelligence in action.
By combining Kolver’s precision, Micropsi’s adaptive intelligence, and Buchanan Automation’s integration expertise, this setup showcases what’s possible when leading technologies come together for smarter manufacturing and error-proofing.
