The competitive nature, and regulations, of today’s global market is such that companies in any industry must adopt the highest possible standards in all aspects of their production process.
This is especially true for manufacturers in the combustion safety and control sector, as in the case of a Kolver customer which fabricates safety and control products for gas firing systems and fuel oil appliances.

To guarantee high levels of safety and quality, this company has implemented strict control procedures and invested in modernizing various aspects of its production line.
One of these decisions involved revamping the automated assembly line, which, at the time, still utilized pneumatic screwdrivers.

Kolver succeeded in solving their growing need for more quality in their fastening process by helping them achieve better tightening precision and repeatability with the PLUTO line of current-controlled screwdrivers. These power tools ensure high repeatability and full traceability of every single tightening operation, a game changer in terms of quality control.
The new line consists of four PLUTO10 and two PLUTO15 with a torque range of 1.5 - 10 Nm and 2.0 - 15 Nm respectively, all controlled by four EDU2AE/TOP/E units.

However, these improvements in the fastening process were not the only selling point; just as important were the ease and speed of implementation. The compact dimensions of the PLUTO drivers allowed for a quick and non-invasive replacement of the old tools, effectively making for a plug-and-play installation.

Now that the implementation has concluded and the tightening line is up and running, we can proudly say that all of the customer’s goals were achieved. A fastening process built on high precision and repeatability is their new baseline.
